Sparking a very small revolution in Somerset, KY.

The Show Goes On!

Okay, so like I said, there WILL be an open mic night at the Carnegie this Saturday. I need writers. I need comedians. I need people who can talk. That’s basically it. Tell your friends, come, pay the $3 admission, perform, eat cupcakes. Have fun.

I Come Bearing Good News!

Gueeeesssssss what?!?!?!??! (I usually hate people who use too many syllables in words, but that was necessary.) I checked in with the Carnegie, and we will have an open mic night probably around November 12th. Get excited!!! I am! I’ll update you soon.

I Can’t Get Rid of the Smile On My Face

Last week I happened to find something that most likely made my life.

Somerset has….a CUPCAKERY!!!!!!

*ballons fly through the air and streamers rain down as I do a happy dance*

For those of you that don’t know, I really really REALLY enjoy cupcakes. A LOT. So I went to Simply Cupcakes of Somerset, admired the adorable decor, ate a cupcake, wept for joy, and went home. You should try it sometime. It’s on 27 next to Earl Brooke Music Store. Check it out.

Urghs

I’m realizing that I’m just a big old procrastinator. I can’t do it. I can’t do 30 posts in 30 days. School’s just too crazy right now. I have way too much homework these days.

Psh, like I do my homework.

All I’ve done for the past twenty minutes is look at sappy tumblr posts, eat, and feel all mushy gushy. It didn’t help that the Pandora station I was listening to (Classical, to “help me study”) sounded like a freakin’ movie.

Ah, life. When will you start making sense?

Investigation

I wonder what really goes on in the Pink Caddy. Drug deals? Crazy dance parties? I really wanna know. What if there was some sort of secret conspiracy in there? Someone check it out.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love vinyl? Notice the four Frank Sinatra albums at the top. And yes, that is an album with the Star of David on it. I happen to really love Jewish music. If you like to collect as well, I recommend Peddler’s Mall on 27 by Big Lots. Much love

I’m definitely getting one of these when I’m old!

Jeepers Creepers!

Halloween’s just around the corner, and you know what that means? Haunted houses!!!! Ah, there’s nothing that I love more than being chased around in the dark by some sweaty guy with a chainless chainsaw. And the lines, oh, the lines! I always look forwards to staying outside in the cold, waiting for people to finish peeing their pants so I can go scream at a stranger to my heart’s content.

Seriously, guys, if you haven’t heard, there’s apparently a great haunted house in Ferguson (wherever that is…) and all the proceeds go to the Bethany House Abuse Shelter here in Somerset. It’s a great cause, and it’s a great way to spend an October night. So go!

Wishes

There are a lot of things I wish for. Parents who’d let me have a social life. A lifetime supply of chocolate. Longer lunch breaks. Understanding of calculus. But the number one thing that I wish? People to get that just because I act like a goon, doesn’t mean I’m stupid. It was Einstein that said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” Einstein! One of the smartest people who ever lived!

It makes me angry when people just put me down because, yeah, I don’t make the best grades. And sure, I say really dumb things sometimes. But I’m trying to make my world a better place. And I’m trying to reach people, make a difference, get something started in this godforsaken community. That’s more than they’ll ever achieve, and they think I’M the stupid one? Idiots.

Aha! The Fun Continues!

Yes! Seventeen minutes left before the day’s over! I can do this. So now I’d like to announce something you should like! I’m planning on having another slam poetry night. Except this time…it’s an open mic night! This way, more people can showcase their talents. I’m hoping for some rap, idea sharing, and live music. Stay posted for details soon!
